Sweet little smiles are on their way – Children’s Day is on Friday, 14th November 2014
As the saying goes ‘Every child is a different kind of a flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden’. Indeed, it is true. Children are the beautiful blooms, so it is significant to secure their future as well. Fondly, on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru i.e. November 14, Children’s day is celebrated across the world every year. Nehru, also lovingly addressed by children as Chacha Nehru, dedicated a large portion of his life to the welfare of children, and since that day the country started celebrating his birthday as Children’s day.
Nehru had faith that education of children could propel country’s future, thus their welfare is important. Also, know as Baal Divas, the day aims in promoting the well being of children and upliftment of their rights.
The day is joyously observed in the country, wherein, children are seen exchanging wishes and presented with gifts, adding to the festivity. Children are also seen enjoying as array of innovative and fun-filled activities at schools that seems much as a festival. Many of these activities focus on education, recreation, health, cultural, economic and social needs of children to mark the event. Besides, many parents consider the day to be important, and rejoice on the day by giving gifts to their children and spending time with them.
